A touching musical homage to the Chinese literary giant took place on June 28

(June 28, 2024, Hong Kong) The mega-event "A Path to Glory – Jin Yong's Centennial Memorial, The World of Wuxia", which celebrates the centenary of the birth of Jin Yong (Dr Louis Cha), held its grand finale of "Scarlett Chan · Piano Under the Sky" tonight at Edinburgh Place inCentral. Under the starlit sky, over 300 audience members listened to internationally renowned pianist Scarlett Chan's touching renditions of classical scores from the television drama and film adaptations of Jin Yong's literary works. Chan's captivating performance showcased her virtuosic musicality, enchanting audiences and paying heartfelt homage to the much-beloved giant of the Chinese literary world.

Chan's concert included the performance of 6 nostalgic soundtracks from Jin Yong television drama and film adaptations, including Tie Xue Dan Xin, Cang Hai Yi Sheng Xiao, Qing Yi Liang Xin Jian, Wan Shui Qian Shan Zong Heng, Shen Hua Qing Hua, and Shi Jian Shi Zhong Ni Hao, each timeless classic personally adapted by Chan to provide a contemporary listening experience for audiences. Besides Chan, singers Alex Fong, Orlando To, Ernestine Ho and Leanne Jackson were invited as guest performers, delivering renditions of A Life Of Fighting Is But A Dream and Liang Wang Yan Shui Li in an altogether rousing and unforgettable evening for audiences.

The "Scarlett Chan · Piano Under the Sky" performance also marks the end of the three-and-a-halfmonth-long run of the "A Path to Glory – Jin Yong's Centennial Memorial" mega-event. Integrating arts, creativity, cultural inheritance and education, the mega-event has been a highlight of the city since its opening in mid-March, attracting over 600,000 locals and tourists alike to visit the remarkable lifelike Jin Yong character sculptures by renowned Chinese sculptor Ren Zhe; or explore the Mongolian yurt installed with a The Condor Heroes themed AR display by Hong Kong Film Award's Best Visual Effects-winning artist Victor Wong. The mega-event invited audiences all over to fully immerse in three-dimensional interpretations of Jin Yong's vibrant world of wuxia.

"A Path to Glory – Jin Yong's Centennial Memorial, The World of Wuxia" achieved unprecedented success owing to the generous guidance and support from the Hong Kong SAR Government's Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the Hong Kong Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund. "A Path to Glory – Jin Yong's Centennial Memorial, The World of Wuxia" will conclude on July 2, while other Jin Yong Centennial Memorial events, such as the "A Path to Glory – Jin Yong's Centennial Memorial, sculpted by Ren Zhe" exhibition taking place in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and other collaborative landmarks will continue to October this year. These events uphold the legacy of not only Jin Yong's world of wuxia but also his resolute and unyielding literati spirit, passing on the baton of patriotism to a new generation of Hong Kong youths, such that all may tread upon their own "path to glory".
